Ashlie and Chuck are such a sweet couple. Their engagement pictures so much fun! The setting for these photos were very unique, because it was on farmland that had been in Ashlie’s family for years. I love to shoot engagement photos in environments that are personal to the couple.

Let me introduce Katie and Wayne. We spent a beautiful day shooting their engagement photos at Moon Shadow Lodge in Townsend TN. As we arrived on the property, we were greeted by wild turkeys crossing a green field with an amazing view of the Smoky Mountains behind them. I had a blast and can’t wait for their wedding next month!

It’s getting that time of year again, and I have been super busy. I have several great photo shoots to share, as I find time to blog them.

First up is Melissa and Brian. Their schedule is a hectic as mine, but we found some time last month to fit in their engagement pictures. They are originally from Indiana, but will be getting married in Knoxville later this year.

When I moved here 10 years ago, I had no idea who Pat Summitt was. Hard to imagine right? Well, I learned quickly and became a huge fan. Last August she announced that she had been diagnosed with early onset dementia, Alzheimer’s type, but continued to coach with the blessing of university officials. Today the University of Tennessee announced coach Summitt, the all-time wins leader among NCAA basketball coaches, has been named head coach emeritus. She is the all-time wins leader among college basketball coaches, Summitt finishes her 38-season career at Tennessee with a 1,098-208 record and an .841 winning pct. The Lady Vols won an unparalleled eight national championships under her leadership and played in 13 national championship games. Thank you for everything that you have done and given to us.

The world’s largest ocean liner sank beneath the North Atlantic 100 years ago April 15. “That’s the last of her,” a survivor said. In fact, Titanic would never really disappear, not from the world’s imagination, and eventually not even from view.

Last month I photographed an assignment for USA Today at the Titanic Museum Attraction, in Pigeon Forge, TN. My pictures are being used in a special section that marks the 100 year anniversary of the Titanic’s sinking in that icy North Atlantic water. In honor of that day, I thought I would blog one of the photos from that assignment.

I love taking pictures, but blogging has never been my best strength. I’ve had several different photo shoots that never make it on the blog. So thought I would do a best of series from 2011. What better place to start than with engagement pictures. I went though each session and narrowed it down to my favorite picture. I had several different reasons for the picking each photo. Some were because of the moments and personality coming out in the pictures. Others were the due to the location, composition and the technique of how I photographed it. In the end, it was harder than I expected to narrow down each shoot to just one photo.

Recently I met with Amy to make some maternity pictures, and a few family portraits, before her new little one arrives. Here are a few of my favorites for you to enjoy.

For the first time in several years, I didn’t spend my whole Martin Luther King weekend taking pictures of girl’s floor competition at the Flip Fest Invitational in the Knoxville Convention Center with Action Pitstop Photography. However, I did get to try something new and photograph boys rings. It was amazing to watch these young kids swing around and hold themselves in different contorted positions. Hope you enjoy this random sampling of photos that I shot during the event.

With the snow falling this morning, it reminded me of one of my favorite wedding pictures and moments. As snow was falling, Erin and Andrew were exiting the church after their wedding ceremony. When they opened the door to get inside of the limo, stripped down groomsmen started popping out. It was fun times, and I have yet to see another exit like it.

I am so pumped to show you Leann’s senior pictures that we did a few weeks ago. What a beautiful girl and she was so sweet.
