What is your favorite wedding movie?
“The Sweetest Thing”

How did you meet?
We met through a mutual friend in San Diego in 2008.

Did you have any input on your engagement ring or was it a total surprise?
We looked at a couple rings together and fell in love my ring. Kenny surprised me by getting my grandmothers diamond as the center stone.

How did he propose?
We were vacationing with friends in Costa Rica when he proposed. I had gone to the market with the girls and while we were gone, Kenny and the boys were staging the proposal. Kenny wrote “Will you marry me?” in rocks. When I got home, I walked in the front door and I saw the rocks. Kenny had gotten on one knee and proposed. I was completely in shock but finally spit out YES!

How did you chose rings?
We chose my ring together and Kenny wanted something unique. Kenny’s ring is made out of Hawaiian Koa Wood inlayed in a titanium band.

What was the most important thing to you about your wedding?
Having all of our family and friends there from around the country.

What was the most anticipated moment of your wedding day?
Seeing everything come together that we’d been working on for the past year.

Tell us about “the” dress. Who was with you when you found it?
It was the third dress I tried on. I knew it was the one once I put it on. My mom and little sister were there when I found it.

What was your something blue?
Kenny gave me a diamond and sapphire ring on our wedding day.

What were you thinking as you walked down the aisle?
How I couldn’t wait to marry my best friend.

What was your favorite wedding moment?
When my cousin from New Zealand performed a Shakespearian sonnet during the ceremony.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
The whole process was fun. My mom and I planned the entire wedding together so we became really good friends.

Have you been planning your wedding since you were a little girl?
No, but when I was planning my wedding I talked about it non-stop and was on Pinterest constantly.

Why did you choose the facility you chose for your wedding and/or reception?
It was an easy decision. Kenny and I love my parent’s property and I’ve always thought it would be a great place for a wedding.

How did you chose your colors?
I love blue and white together.

What was  your first dance song?
Paolo Nutini-  “Loving You”

What flavor was your cake?
We had a three- tiered cake so we decided to have three flavors—lemon raspberry, coconut and carrot.

Did you have a groom’s cake?
No, but at the end of the night we served milk and chocolate chip cookies for a late night snack.

Did you do any DIY projects?
We had lots of DIY projects. We made the table runners for the reception, the save the dates, table numbers and ceremony programs. My dad and I planted a meadow of grasses and flowers for the aisle and built the pergola Kenny and I got married under. My dad also made our wood cake stand.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We haven’t gone on one yet. We’re saving up to go to Bora Bora or Fiji.
